Lucia Buricelli is an Italian photographer born and raised in Venice, who currently lives between London, Venice, Milan and New York. Buricelli started taking pictures at the age of 16, in the streets of Venice. She went on to graduate from the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, in Graphic Design and Art Direction in 2017 and then went on to graduate from the Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism Program at ICP. In her work, Buricelli is interested in exploring everyday life in all its forms: from interactions between people, animals that live in urban environments, to objects that have fallen to the ground, to self-portraits.
Buricelli is interested in documenting different aspects of urban daily life, she believes that interesting things can be found anywhere and at anytime. Colours and the use of the frontal flash play an important role in Buricelli’s work.
